Alexia Kane is a midwestern graphic designer with plenty of experience in the creative industry. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Communications and Spanish from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 2021. In their personal work, they like to explore digital mediums, the connect between digital and physical media, and visual art in relation to music. She currently resides in Omaha, Nebraska with her partner and pets, and works for Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts as a Communications Associate.
Collaborating closely with Kala Rehberger, an Eau Claire artist renowned for her innovative use of materials such as clay, resin, pressed flowers, and unique mediums, I embarked on a journey to craft a comprehensive brand identity that would resonate with her target audience. This endeavor demanded a nuanced understanding of Kala's artistic vision and the ability to translate it into a visually compelling narrative. Through intensive brainstorming sessions and iterative design processes, we fused these disparate elements into a cohesive brand that authentically represented her craft and values.
One of the most rewarding aspects of this project was the opportunity to explore the intersection of art and commerce, where creativity meets strategic thinking. By strategically integrating Kala's distinctive materials and artistic techniques into the brand identity, we were able to create a compelling story that captivated her audience and differentiated her from competitors in the market. This process involved not only visual design but also thoughtful consideration of messaging, tone, and brand positioning.
