Alexia Kane is a midwestern graphic designer with plenty of experience in the creative industry. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Communications and Spanish from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 2021. In their personal work, they like to explore digital mediums, the connect between digital and physical media, and visual art in relation to music. She currently resides in Omaha, Nebraska with her partner and pets, and works for Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts as a Communications Associate.
In response to an expressed interest from the local vintage brand, EC Vintage, I took a proactive approach to understand their design goals. They sought a contemporary update, expressing dissatisfaction with their current logo's alignment with their brand identity. Drawing inspiration from the dynamic aesthetics of streetwear and staying within their established color palette, I formulated a pragmatic solution that seamlessly integrated with their existing brand image.
This revamped design not only cohesively resonated with their brand colors but also redefined their image, aligning it precisely with contemporary design sensibilities. The outcome stood as a testament to the impactful role of design in enhancing a brand's presence. Impressively, this modernized direction garnered highly positive feedback, highlighting the successful fusion of design vision with the brand's core values and the effective incorporation of contemporary elements into their visual identity.
